What does Yoga Therapy involve?
We all experience challenges in different ways and at different times in our life. The fundamental aim of Yoga is to relieve suffering and support our flourishing.
Yoga Therapy takes a professional approach which considers all the layers of our being in the process of healing and becoming our best self.
It’s not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Quite the opposite. You might bring an issue, like back pain, feeling anxious, having low self-esteem, feeling disconnected or lacking in purpose. Then I get curious and inquire a little to get a clearer picture into the history of your situation and how it is showing up in the different layers of your self. Finding the way-in to your unique healing process.
I draw on my knowledge of neuroscience, physiology, psychology and my intuition as well as Yoga practices to offer my ideas for practice. We co-create a plan, we practice together and you go away with some home practice to engage with everyday, or at least a few times a week. The home practice is so important as it’s the mindful repetition that modifies our neural pathways and brings lasting change.
The next session we talk about how it’s going for you and make any modifications to the plan as you experience changes and new aspects come to light.
I find Yoga Therapy potent because it addresses all the layers of our being and it can shift how we feel surprisingly quickly.
I love Yoga Therapy because essentially I’m supporting you.
The process empowers you to the make the changes you need in your life. So, you get the satisfaction of your own endeavours.
