Yoga for Life?
Recently I realised just how glad I am that I chose the name Yoga is for Life back in 2006. Now more than ever, it sums up how I feel about it.
Yoga is a set of mind-body-heart skills that are grown and nurtured with practice. Hence it is called Yoga practice, something to repeat and something that can profoundly change our whole being.
Practiced with the intention to create connection and wholeness through re-wiring our nervous system, we can shift from existing in survival mode to flourishing in our social engagement system. With the social engagement system online, we experience a different set of behaviours, thinking, emotions and perspectives about the interconnectedness of life. In this state we can see things through a wider lens, which responds rather than reacts. A more compassionate way of living that supports our well-being and ripples through our communities. A reverence for life.
Each time we connect with Yoga practice with the intention of becoming more aware and feeling sensation in our body, we strengthen and widen those pathways. Creating in the moment as well as long-lasting changes.
There are many ways to practice, depending on our individual capacities, so we need to find a practice that works for us. One size doesn’t fit all so I love to craft classes with a specific focus. I hope the right people will find them and feel the benefit of Yoga.
More than ever Yoga weaves itself through every aspect of my life, it creates the future me and I imagine I will be practising until my last breath….Yoga is for my life.
Is it for yours?
